Masters Coach - Carlos Salazar
Carlos was born in Colombia South
America where he began swimming at the age of 5. He moved to the U.S in
1989 where he attended and swam for Duncanville High School. His coaching
career began in 1995 with Duncanville Swim Team where he coached a summer
league at the Grand Prairie YMCA Aquatic Club (GPAC). From 1997 to 1999
he was the head coach of GPAC. In 1999 GPAC became the first YMCA swim
team in Texas to represent the State at the Short Course National Championships.
His swimmers have participated in 5 other YMCA Long Course National Championships.
He has coached High School swimming and was honored to coach the South
Grand Prairie High School swim team to their first win in a District meet
for the first time in the history of the program. He is currently enrolled
at UTA and plans to major in Education. Carlos became the Head coach of
the Arlington Stingrays in February of 2003. Carlos believes that ASR
has a great program and bright future.

He's a three-time Olympian (1976 Montreal, 1980 Moscow, 1984 Los Angeles), four-year All-American at the University of Michigan and Hall of Fame Inductee.

Wendell
Nancy is originally from Dallas, where she began swimming at age 8. Nancy moved to Arlington her junior year in high school where she sompeted twice at the High School State Championships. At age 17 she won 50 meter freestyle at the TAGS championships. Nancy went to Junior Nationals her senior year.Nancy graduated from Arlington High School in 1982 and went on to swim as a full scholarship athlete for TCU. While at TCU, Nancy competed all four years at Southwest Championships, placing numerous times, she also competed twice at NCAA championships, and was team captain twice. She graduated from TCU with a BS in Kinesiological Studies. She is the head coach of the Keller High School Swim Team. Nancy has been married to Rob years since 1986 and has three children.
